Wilhelm Deppe of Company A of the 29th Regiment of the Wisconsin Infantry Volunteered for service in the Civil War, 1862. Deppe went to Madison as a private in Capt. Hancock's company and was promoted to the rank of corporal a year later. Then detached with the Regimental Color Guard. Mustered out June, 1865. Willhelm and his wife Regina Roos lived in Portland, Wisconsin. Submitted by Maureen Giese, descendent.
